Apple Crème Brulee

Ingredients:

1   (21-oz.) can Comstock® or Wilderness® Apple Fruit Filling
6   large egg yolks, chilled
6  Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 cups whipping cream (not whipped)
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

Directions:

1. Adjust oven rack to center position; Preheat to 275°F.
2. Butter six (6-ounce) ramekins or gratin dishes. Place them in glass dish. Fill bottom of each ramekin with one layer of apple filling.
3. In medium bowl, whisk egg yolks until slightly thickened. Add sugar; whisk until dissolved. Whisk in cream. Pour mixture into prepared ramekins.
4. Set baking dish on oven rack; pour warm water into pan to come halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake 40-45 minutes or until custards are just set. Remove baking dish from oven. Leaving ramekins in hot water; cool to room temperature.
5. Cover ramekins; refrigerate 2 hours or until chilled. (This can be done the day before.) Before serving, remove ramekins from refrigerator. Spread each ramekin with remaining pie filling. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over top. Set ramekins in baking pan. Adjust oven rack to second highest position and heat broiler. Broil 2 to 3 minutes or until topping is bubbly and sugar is caramelized.
