Berry Easy Braid

Ingredients:

2  sheets frozen puff pastery (from a 17.3-oz. box) thawed
1  (21 oz. can) Comstock® or Wilderness® Strawberry Filling or Topping
8  oz. cream cheese, room temperature
1  large egg, whipped
1/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp. sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Stir cream cheese, egg and ¼ cup sugar until blended.
3. Place 1 sheet puff pastry lengthwise on a rimless baking sheet lined with parchment paper, roll out to a 12-inch-long rectangle.
4. Spread ½ of the cream cheese mixture evenly down center 1/3 of sheet. Spread 1 cup or ½ can strawberry filling over cream cheese mixture.
5. On both sides of filling, cut 1-inch wide strips from edge of puff pasty to filling (about 12 strips). Fold strips at an angle across filling, overlapping and alternating from side to side. Brush top with milk. Sprinkle with sugar.
6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until crust is golden.

Makes 8-10 servings
